FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to internal combustion engines with distributed injection of fuel. According to proposed method of determination of phase of working cycle of four-stroke internal combustion engine with distributed group injection of fuel including successive measuring angular velocity of crankshaft, for each duty of engine threshold difference Δ Ω thr is set between successive measurands of angular velocity. Test injection of reduced/increased amount of fuel into one of cylinders is carried out. Difference Δ Ω between following measured values of angular velocity Ω is determined. Difference Δ Ω is compared with preset value of threshold difference Δ Ω thr for current operating conditions of engine, and working stroke of said cylinder is found from equation Δ Ω >Δ Ω thr.

EFFECT: possibility of determination of working cycle phases in system at no (vanishing) signal from phase sensor.
