FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing silica under analysis with liquid having refraction coefficient within the value ranging between refraction coefficient of non-calcined alumina and refraction coefficient of calcined alumina; preparing plate for investigating said mixture in said apparatus for analysis of images, where said mixture is illuminated by permanent polychromatic radiation; receiving image by camera and processing signal corresponding to image formed from predetermined number of pixels with three color components; providing statistic processing of said pixels with the use of their color components to judge extent and uniformity of calcination.

EFFECT: increased efficiency and reduced time for performing measurements.
