FIELD: carbon materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for electronics, in particular for manufacturing semiconductor and luminescent elements with high optical transparence. Diamond seed and catalyst are placed into chamber, wherein catalyst is at least one water-soluble salt imparting alkalinity to medium, namely NaCl, KCl, MgCl2, CaCl2, MnCl2, FeCl2, CrCl3, TiCl3, NH4Cl, or K2CO3. Chamber is then filled with water and sealed, after which carbon monoxide is introduced to pressure from 1 to 150 atm and mixture is heated to 180-450оС. Synthesis is continued until carbon monoxide is completely dissolved. It is also possible to incorporate additionally fine carbon into chamber region with higher temperature and to force carbon dioxide. In latter case diamond seed is placed into chamber region with lower temperature. Aqueous medium can further be completed with chemicals including diamond alloying admixtures.
EFFECT: enabled synthesis of diamond with lattice containing no graphite and hydrogen impurities, simplified synthetic procedure, and reduced power consumption.
