FIELD: mechanical engineering; testing facilities.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine serviceable life and condition of internal combustion engine in operation. According to proposed method fuel consumption and engine operating parameters are recorded at stochastic load of engine, moments of passing of engine operating modes in point of inflection of performance curve are recorded when fuel flow rate reaches extreme value, degree of pressure rise in engine cylinder is determined as ratio of current values of operating parameters in fixed time moments. Used as engine operating mode parameters are current values of mechanical strains in studs or bolts holding cylinder block head which are measured at delivery and no delivery of fuel. Moreover, specific fuel consumption is determined as ratio of value of maximum fuel flow rate to value of maximum power. Current indices of engine operation under normal conditions are compared with reference ones, and then serviceable life of engine is determined.
EFFECT: improved reliability of testing.
