FIELD: production of titanium ingots at continuous processing of titanium chips.
SUBSTANCE: crystallizer includes water-cooled copper drum having on cylindrical surface working cavities in the form of through grooves. Drum is provided with two water-cooled jaws fixed relative to drum. At rotation of drum lateral surfaces of working cavities are periodically overlapped by means of jaws. Melt is poured into cavity being in upper position. After cooling during predetermined time period and crystallization of melt, drum rotates by preset angle. And next cavity if filled with melt. When working cavity achieves its lower position, casting is knocked out by means of pusher mounted outside zone of jaw arrangement.
EFFECT: reduced time period of cycle for making charged billets, lowered cost, enhanced technical and economical factors.
