FIELD: fat and oil industry, agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to post-harvest treatment of oil seeds. Method involves separation of seeds for two fractions, cooling by active ventilation, drying, storing seeds of the first fraction and processing without storage of seeds of the second fraction. Seeds are separated for two fractions by their oil acid number wherein the first fraction with the oil acid number up to 2.5 mg KOH/g inclusively and the second fraction with the oil acid number above 2.5 mg KOH/g. Then the first fraction is dried up to moisture exceeding the critical value by 1-2% followed by cooling by active ventilation for 40-80 h every day up to temperature 2-10oC and fed for storing. The second fraction is dried up to critical moisture value and fed for processing. Invention provides enhancing yield of oil from seeds and to enhance its quality by acid and peroxide numbers due to biochemical processes in seeds.
