FIELD: filtering processes.
SUBSTANCE: proposed pressure filter has stack of vertical plates which are movable horizontally; each adjacent filter plates are interconnected by connecting member forming filtering chamber. Filter plates adjoin each other in compressed state by sealing edges; they may be shifted to emptying position by horizontal motion when horizontal clearance between adjacent filter plates is limited by adjoining of coupling member of one filter plate to thrust surface of coupling member of adjacent filter plate. Filter plates may be shifted from compressed state to position at removed load when sealing edges of filter plates are separated from respective sealing surfaces and coupling members adjoin locking surface which prevents further horizontal removal of adjacent filter plates. Coupling members are so located that they may unlock adjacent coupling members from locking surface.
EFFECT: active removal of load from sealing edges of entire stack for forming similar clearance between all filter plates.
