FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises performing reference wear resistance test during cutting materials at the optimal or near-optimal cutting rate, testing variation of the intensity of partial digits as a function of surface properties, polyoxide structure, which is formed during heating at the surface of the hard-alloy cutting tool at a temperature equal to the mean temperature in the cutting zone, constructing the reference correlation dependence, which includes initial parameter in the form of the wear resistance for given cutting temperatures and heating, current monitoring of the value of the initial parameter only for the current batch of hard-alloy cutting tools, and predicting wear resistance for the current batch from the dependence proposed.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy reduced labor consumptions.
