FIELD: railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for locating place of defect in brake system. According to proposed method, railway train brake main line is connected to compressed air source, forced operation of air distributors is provided in succession starting from tail of terrain to its head and moments of passage of brake wave from air distributors to head of train T1 and to tail of train T2 are detected and time interval (T1-T2) between said moments is measured and calibration dependence (T1-T2)=f(n) is determined where n is number of car. Then moments of passage of brake wave from place of air leakage in brake main line to head of train t1 and to tail of train t2 at reduction of pressure at a rate of 0.2 atm in 80 sec are detected and time interval (t1-t2) between said moments is measured and, using calibration dependence and time interval (t1-t2) car is determined in which source of air leakage is located.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of localization of place of air leakage in train brake main line, provision of operative diagnosing.
