FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: number of the car in which spontaneous brake actuation occurred is determined by mathematic-logic processing of signals from pressure pickups installed in the head and trail ends of the train, and by measurement of the time of brake wave propagation from the train head end to the trail end at service braking and the time between the instants of passage of brake wave to the train head and trail ends caused by spontaneous actuation of brakes in the train. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 dwg
