FIELD: railway signaling and communication.
SUBSTANCE: method is based on monitoring changes in insulation resistance during tolerable period of time. According to proposed method, zone of additional shunting is determined as distance between points of beginning of shunting of reference track circuit using standard shunt at dry ballast and at wet ballast at maximum tolerable time of train running on block section.
EFFECT: improved reliability of checking state of track sections.
