FIELD: manufacturing processes with use of ultrasound for releasing residual stresses and strengthening metal surfaces in machine engineering and in other branches of national economy.
SUBSTANCE: ultrasonic tool includes ultrasound irradiator in the form of wave-guide on end of which detachable working tip is mounted. Said tip is made of material whose physical and mechanical properties correspond to those of worked material and it has shaped contour corresponding to topography of worked metal. Ultrasound irradiator with working tip is secured directly to end of concentrator and forms one-piece unit with it. Ultrasonic tool also includes detachable compression spring designed for changing and controlling effort of forcing ultrasound irradiator to worked surface of metal; lug for securing tool to machine tool at operation in stable mode; sleeve mounted in zero plane of wave-guide with possibility of motion along wave-guide for aligning position of plane of irradiator relative to plane of worked surface of metal and having braking member arranged in sleeve at side of worked metal surface; handles designed for operation of ultrasound irradiator in manual working mode when compression spring is arranged along lengthwise axis of acoustic system between magnetostriction converter and housing at opposite side relative to concentrator and when lug with one handle is secured to housing of acoustic system and other handle is secured to sleeve.
EFFECT: enhanced wear resistance, increased useful life period of articles, enlarged manufacturing possibilities of tool.
