FIELD: manufacture of ultrathin tapes lesser than or equal to 12 mcm in thickness from ferro-aluminum alloys.
SUBSTANCE: tapes made by this method are used for production of multi-layer complexes containing layer of paper or cardboard, aluminum alloy layer and polymer layer for making sterile flexible and rigid packings for food-stuff. Alloy contains the following components, mass-%: Si, 0.15-0.4; Fe, 1.1-1.70; Mg<0.02; Mn, 0.30-0.5; other components <0.05 each and <0.15 of total; the remainder being aluminum. Tape is made from this alloy by continuous casting at thickness of from 2 to 10 mm. Method includes homogenization of tape at temperature of 450 to 620°C continued for 8-40 h, cold rolling of tape, intermediate annealing of cold rolled tape at temperature of 200 to 400°C continued for 8-15 h, cold rolling of annealed tape to final thickness lesser than or equal to 12 mcm and final annealing of tape at temperature of from 200 to 300°C continued for at least 50 h. Tape made by this method has rupture strength Rm>100 Mpa, ultimate strength R0.2>80 Mpa, elongation at rupture A>3% and porosity acc. to standard EN 546-4<10 pore/dm2.
EFFECT: enhanced strength of tape at high rupture and bending strength.
