FIELD: composite materials.
SUBSTANCE: material designed to protect friction parts and metal machining tools against wear contains inside titanium-containing layer and outside carbon-containing layer, the former being made from titanium or titanium nitride, and the latter from carbon-containing substance with diamond-like and graphite-like modification with 5-20% graphite phase. Thicknesses of titanium-containing and carbon-containing layers are within a range of 0.01 to 0,2 μm and their repetition number varies from 1 to 8. Titanium-t-carbon ratio in material is 1:1.
EFFECT: increased lifetime of metal machining tools.
