SUBSTANCE: proposed arc-control device has fixed and movable main contacts, movable auxiliary contact, fixed piston, fixed auxiliary contact, insulating nozzle, cylindrical insulating bushing rigidly secured on fixed auxiliary contact, self-oscillation chamber, compression chamber, and valves; self-oscillation chamber is, essentially, cylindrical tank whose walls are lined on inner surfaces with polymeric material, such as fluoroplastic, that emits gaseous disintegration products when heated which aids in arc extinction.
EFFECT: enhanced arc-control efficiency when handling high and medium currents, reduced arcing time, enhanced switching capacity.
