FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises setting the tool in transverse movement. The length of the working surface of the cutting projections of each disk is determined from the equality of the mean depth of penetration of the abrasive grains of the continuous and discontinuous disks into the material to be grinded at any moment of grinding. The formula for determining the length as a function of the radii of the solid and interrupted disks, radii of the steps of the part, lengths of the contact curve of the continuous and discontinuous disks with the part and the number of cutting projections of the discontinuous disk is proposed.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of grinding.
