The inner face and radial surfaces of the housing that are mating to the surfaces of the gate valve are provided with stabilizing pockets interposed between the nozzles and connected with the source of lubricant through permanent throttles and drain grooves separated from the pockets and nozzles by means of throttling cross-pieces.
