FIELD: fiber-optic communication lines, applicable for measurement of power loss in fiber-optic connector.

SUBSTANCE: the connector has an optical fiber for transmission of high-level optical power, in particular, power exceeding 1kW, in which, scattered radiation, getting beyond the limits of the fiber core, is absorbed, at least partially in a current cooler. The connector has facilities, for example, thermocouples, for measurement of the difference ΔT of temperatures of the cooler in the inlet and outlet channels of the connector by which the value of loss of optical power is judged.

EFFECT: provided control of the production process, enhanced accuracy at positioning of optical fibers.
