FIELD: electromagnetic wave generation; superhigh-frequency microwave oscillators.
SUBSTANCE: proposed microwave oscillator built around virtual cathode has vacuum system assembled of waveguide accommodating cathode and a few anode grids connected to external power supply, as well as microwave radiation output device coupled with waveguide. Cathode is transparent for electrons; at least one anode grid is installed either side of cathode. In addition, waveguide can be arranged to form closed circuit.
EFFECT: enhanced microwave radiation generation efficiency.
