DIAMOND-ABRASIVE WORKING METHOD Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: machine engineering, possibly diamond-abrasive polishing of any surfaces.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of mounting wheel on mandrel by acute angle relative to plane normal to rotation axis; imparting to wheel and to worked blank rotation and feed motion along blank; using wheel with axial shifting of working layer in direction of lengthwise feed. Wheel is in the form of tore-like disc being cylinder truncated at both sides and made of elastic material such as porolon to periphery of which ring of diamond-abrasive cloth is secured. On ends of disc two flat washers and four slanted washers (two on each end) are arranged for gradually changing inclination angle of wheel. Disc is mounted on sleeve defining height of wheel.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency, enlarged manufacturing possibilities of wheel, improved quality of polishing.
