FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, production of cast iron or liquid steel products in blast furnace.
SUBSTANCE: method involves removing substantial amount of CO2 from one part of blast furnace gas flow issuing from shaft reduction furnace; if necessary, heating said gas by partially combusting with oxygen; feeding into blast furnace as a reducing gas, with blast furnace gas being supplied into lower zone of blast furnace shaft. Apparatus has at least one warm blast furnace gas supply pipe connected through pipe with gas removal device and also with shaft of blast furnace for partial combustion of blast furnace gas before it is supplied into furnace shaft.
EFFECT: increased efficiency in utilizing of blast furnace gas for additional production of cast iron, improved heat balance in shoulder and well zones of blast furnace, and increased efficiency in calcination of lump admixtures in case said lumps admixtures are directly charged into furnace.
