METHOD FOR PREDICTING THE DEGREE OF EARLY REHABILITATION IN PATIENTS WITH SEVERE CRANIAL TRAUMA Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

Abstract RU 2264169 C2

FIELD: medicine, neurology, neurosurgery, neurotraumatology.

SUBSTANCE: one should perform digital coding for clinical signs detected in the course of neurological trial at applying coefficients and constants obtained due to the method for mathematical modeling. It is necessary to calculate linear-discriminant functions (LDF) being correspondent to three variants of predicted result of cranial trauma - high value of vital activity (LDF1), satisfactory value of vital activity (LDF2), lethal result (LDF3) by the following formulas: LDF1 = -15.09 + 1.98 x X1 +1.63 x X2 + 1.63 x X3 + 8.27 x X4 + 1.74 x X5 + 0.95 x X6 + 0.81 x X6; LDF2 = -27.01 + 1.90 x X1 + 1.75 x X2 + 2.16 x X3 + 10.86 x X4 + 1.52 x X5 + 2.67 x X6 + 1.98 x X7; LDF3 = -39.30 + 2.59 x X1 + 1.05 x X2 + 1.92 x X3 + 11.37 x X4 + 2.16 x X5 + 3.86 x X6 + 3.52 x X7, where X1...X7 illustrates age gradations, respiratory disorders, pulse rate, availability of intra-cranial complications, type of cerebral lesion, availability of somatic complications and level of consciousness. By higher absolute LDF1 value one should detect high value of vital activity in patients, LDF2 - satisfactory value of vital activity and LDF3 - lethal result of severe cranial trauma.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of prediction.
