FIELD: electrical engineering; lead-acid battery manufacture.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for continuous production of lead-acid battery leads involves casting of strip between two similar force-cooled revolving drums provided with similar-intensity heat transfer system; strip is then rolled at temperature of 60-80 °C and reduction degree of 0.75-0.95 to obtain band followed by mechanical stamping of cells by noncontinuous method due to periodic indentation of punch into moving band at the same time moving it together with band at same speed. Leads manufactured by this method are characterized in high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance with added advantage of eliminated strain growth in positive electrodes.
EFFECT: enlarged mechanical endurance of smeared plates and consequently enlarged service life of lead-acid batteries.
