FIELD: production of granulated metal by direct reduction.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes heating the material containing oxide of metal and carbon-containing reductant for reduction of metal contained in material. Then additional heating of metal thus obtained is performed for melting it at simultaneous separation of metal from by-product of slag component and forming granulated metal. To facilitate cohesion of by-product of slag, cohesion accelerating agent is added at content of 0.2-2.5% by mass. Cohesion accelerating agent contains at least one of following constituents: calcium fluoride, boron oxide, sodium carbonate and sodium oxide.
EFFECT: increased yield and increased productivity of metal granule containing high-purity metal and having large diameter; ease of transportation and handling.
