METHOD FOR EVALUATING BACTERIEMIA OF PERITONEAL ORIGIN IN AN EXPERIMENT Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC A61B6/00

Abstract RU 2275859 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with qualitative and quantitative evaluation of bacteriemia under conditions of microbial contamination of abdominal cavity. The method deals with intra-abdominal injection of E.coli-99mTc, the course of dynamic scintigraphy during 6 h followed by calculating the number of impulses per time unit at the site of injection. Moreover, it is necessary to inject E.coli-99mTc purified against unbound radionuclide. Additionally, one should calculate the number of impulses in cardiac area. Then one should establish bacteriemia index (BI) according to activity-time curve by the following formula: where Ctx - count of impulses in area of injecting E.coli-99mTc at the moment t, Ct0 - count of impulses at the moment of the onset of investigation, ctx - coefficient of pertechnetate decomposition 99mTc at the moment t. At BI = 59.0-65.0% and ascending type of the curve in cardiac area one should establish a progressing stage of bacteriemia of periteoneal origin, and at BI = 10.0-15.3% and wave-like type of the curve in cardiac area - the stage of moderate bacteriemia of peritoneal origin.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of evaluation.
