FIELD: microbiology.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to microbiology. Intraperitoneal day culture of Staphylococcus aureus grown in meat-peptone agar in amount of 5 ml is introduced into the rabbits. Concentration in 1 ml is increased to 108 microbial cells according to the Tarasevich opacity standard in a sterile test tube. Clinical signs of infection are observed 2–3 days after the introduction of Staphylococcus aureus.
EFFECT: method enables producing a technically simple and highly reproducible model of an intraperitoneal staphylococcal infectious process leading to peritonitis.
