FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: vibrating cutting disk whose height is less that the width of the groove to be cut comprises axially shifted peripheral cutting part arranged at an angle to the plane perpendicular to its axis of rotation. The faces of the disk are knurled to define the Archimedes spiral whose thickness is equal to the height of the disk. The projections of the knurling lie in the plane inclined to the disk center in radial direction at an angle of 1°-2°. The spirals of knurling are multi-entering, with the even number of enters. The beginning of the Archimedes spiral on each of the faces is in coincidence with one of its generatrices.
EFFECT: enhanced strength of the disk and efficiency of cutting.
