FIELD: mechanical engineering and archaeology, particularly metal article, for instance archeological find, cleaning and preservation.
SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing the article; performing vacuum degassing of the article; saturating article surface with inert gas in air-free environment and applying coating on the prepared article. Vacuum degassing is carried out under pressure of 10-2 - 10-4 Pa and at temperature of 200-600°C. The coating is created in inert gas atmosphere by applying organic polymer solution or melt on article surface. Due to developed article surface the polymer is adhered to article surface with enough adherence force.
EFFECT: possibility to preserve metal articles of different structures, having cracks and pores and increased time of safe article keeping.
