SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in cleaning samples of archaeological woollen and vegetable textiles, as well as modern animal wool to study the isotopic composition of strontium by mass spectrometry. The proposed method for purifying samples of archaeological woollen and vegetable textiles, as well as modern animal wool for studying the isotopic composition of strontium in them by mass spectrometry includes treatment of samples weighing 20–40 mg with hydrofluoric acid HF with a volume concentration of 20% (v/v) for 1 hour in closed containers placed in an ultrasonic bath filled with water at room temperature, pumping out with an autosampler, washing with 1 ml of ultrapure water and drying, the method is unique in that the volume of hydrofluoric acid is 3 cm3, 20 cm3 Teflon containers are used, water for ultrasonic baths with a temperature of 20°C is changed every 15 minutes to exclude its heating, while the operating settings of the ultrasonic bath as follows: operating frequency 35 kHz, power 320 W, ultrapure deionized water with a resistivity of 18.2 MOhm⋅cm is used to wash the textile or wool under study, collecting the combined washing water, and drying is carried out in Teflon bottles on an electric stove at a temperature of 120°C using open method until completely dry.
EFFECT: simplification of the cleaning procedure, minimization of cross-contamination and the level of blank (control) test, reduction of time and material costs for its implementation.
