FIELD: processes and equipment for wet dust trapping, possibly in chemical, textile, food making and other branches of industry.

SUBSTANCE: scrubber includes housing, branch pipe for inlet of dust laden has having cylindrical portion, converging portion and diffuser, branch pipe for discharging scrubbed gas, reservoir with liquid, washing out jet and pipe for withdrawing sludge. Diffuser for inlet of dust laden gas includes arranged coaxially outer and inner cone branch pipes mounted with mutual gap "d" and joined one to other through spacing members placed between inner surface of outer cone branch pipe and outer surface of inner cone branch pipe. Small bases of branch pipes are turned to side of converging portion and large bases of branch pipes are turned to side of reservoir with liquid. Outer cone branch pipe is joined along perimeter of its small base with converging portion. Large bases of cone branch pipes are spaced from surface of liquid by gap "b". Relation of gap "d" between coaxially arranged cone branch pipes and gap "b" between large bases of cone branch pipes and liquid surface is in range: d/b = 1.0 - 3.0.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and reliability of dust trapping process.
