METHOD OF OBTAINING RESIDUAL PRODUCT OF THERMAL POLYCONDENSATION Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC C10C1/16 

FIELD: petroleum processing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to residual product of thermal polycondensation such cake, petroleum caking additive, and coke. Method is accomplished via thermal polycondensation of petroleum feedstock in reactor to produce and discharge desired product, while inert gas substance, e.g. water steam or nitrogen, is fed into bottom of reactor simultaneously with feedstock. Pressure gradient between top and bottom of the reactor is measured and phase state is determined from its values. When needed, density of reaction mass is determined and, in dependence on data obtained, polycondensation process is either continued under current process conditions or heat carrier is supplied to reactor.

EFFECT: enabled obtaining residual product of thermopolycondensation with desired quality and at lowest operation expenses.
