FIELD: transport, pipelines.
SUBSTANCE: pipeline O-ring incorporates a thin-wall hollow metal ring with a filler fitted therein and representing a ring-like casing with a section chamber and the chamber shut-off appliance. The said filler is produced by winding expanded graphite foil along the spiral line onto the ring with subsequent squeesing till the said thin-wall hollow metal ring inner cross section. The ring-like casing section chamber can be U-shaped, while its shut-off appliance can represent a flat ring. The ring-like section chamber casing and its shut-off appliance can represent mirror semi-tori with the vanes arranged along their edges. The expanded graphite foil can be either smooth, or imprinted, and rolled to the density of 0.6 to 1.2 g/cm3. The squeesing of the said ring till the said thin-wall hollow metal ring inner cross section is made till the density of 1.2 to 1.8 g/cm3. The said thin-wall hollow metal ring can be produced from any of the below indicated metals, i.e. austenitic stainless steel, nickel, inconel, aluminium or titanium.
EFFECT: higher reliability of pipeline valves and accessories.
