FIELD: metallurgy; control of converter steelmaking process in case of failure of normal slag-forming process and danger of metal and slag slopping.

SUBSTANCE: proposed device is provided with first storage unit which makes it possible to extend capabilities of mode of blast and addition of loose materials in case of danger of slopping for taking corrective measures for stabilization of slag forming mode. Device is also provided with unit for forming melting character according to initial state and periods of blowing for determination of deviations of initial period of blowing of metal in converter caused by considerable variations in parameters of scrap and cast iron relative to temperature conditions having effect on bath oxidation process for forming correcting control mode both by initial conditions and in the course of blowing metal in converter. Device is provided with first comparison unit, first threshold element, double coincidence unit, first, second and third switches which makes it possible to perform effective selection of required corrective measures in case of undesirable situation at state of slag mode of converter melting. Comparison of formed subclass (number) of correcting control mode performed on new melting stage with signals of correcting fragments recorded in first storage unit and transmitted from its first output makes it possible to identify correcting action in form of correcting fragments of oxygen delivery, oxygen lance position, kind and amount of portions of loose materials supplied from second, third and fourth outputs of first storage unit.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency; enhanced accuracy of recommendations proposed.
