FIELD: special electric metallurgy, namely vacuum electric arc lining slag furnaces, possibly for melting ingots of refractory and highly reactive metals and alloys, mainly titanium alloys.
SUBSTANCE: furnace includes vacuum water cooled chamber, electrode holder, consumable electrode-lining slag, water cooled crucible and detachable mold having lateral cylindrical sleeve, stool and suspension assembly. Lateral surface of mold is formed of two detachable plates with inner sealed water-cooled ducts mutually communicated successively and through pipelines and fittings they are communicated with outer water circulation system. Funnel is mounted in upper end of mold; said funnel has rods secured to it and it is made of material similar to melt alloy. Lower end portions of said rods have turnings and they are arranged lower than upper end of molded ingot. Invention allows to decrease by two and more times total mass of ingot-mold system and to make mold with complex three-dimensional shape of working surface in general equipment.
EFFECT: reduced thermal loads, improved strength of mold, enhanced ability of mold to repairing.
