METHOD OF DETERMINATION OF METALLURGICAL USEFULNESS OF BLAST-FURNACE IRON ORE RAW MATERIAL Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC C22B1/14

FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; production of agglomerate and pellets and melting them in blast furnace.

SUBSTANCE: in determination of metallurgical usefulness of blast-furnace raw material in form of agglomerate, pellets or their mixture, its properties are estimated by complex quality index. Metallurgical usefulness is estimated by points-rating system depending on predicted consumption of coke per ton of iron; estimation is made by sum of points of complex quality index according to dependence where ПК is complex quality index; Fi and Bi are components of quality index and point corresponding to them. Change of quality index by one point is estimated by inverse proportion change of consumption of coke by 4-7 kg/ton of iron. Quality index for mixture of agglomerate and pellets is calculated as weighted average of components of mixture.

EFFECT: possibility of optimization of metallurgical properties of blast-furnace iron ore waste; reduced consumption of coke.
