FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves examining biological substrate, blood serum taken from patient, the latter being preliminarily dried and dissolved in Vaseline oil. Infrared spectroscopy examination of sample is carried out with absorption spectra being recorded in the bandwidth of 1200-1000 cm-1 and absorption band peak heights are recorded with maximum occurred at 1170, 1165, 1150, 1140, 1130, 1100, 1070 and 1025 cm-1. Ratios of each preceding to the following peak value are calculated as 1170/1165, 1165/1150, 1150/1140, 1140/1130, 1130/1100, 1100/1070, 1070/1025 and the S value is determined as ratio of peak having maximum at 1100 cm-1 to the mean pf all particular values. S being greater than 0.66, severe acute pancreatitis clinical course is predicted.
EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis; accelerated examination procedure.
