FIELD: industrial organic synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: generation of carbon monoxide for synthesis of multiple organic compounds comprises subjecting copper-zinc alloy powder, e.g. fraction 40-180 μm containing 20-40 wt % Zn, to reaction with carbon dioxide at temperature specified within a range 380 to 750°C and carbon dioxide flow rate 15-30 L/h. Temperature is raised from 380°C to specified value at velocity 2.0-3.0°C/min. When achieved, specified temperature is maintained for at least 1 h. Raise of temperature to its specified value and aging are fulfilled not less than one time.
EFFECT: more than fourfold increased productivity of process and sevenfold degree of usage of zinc.
