FIELD: working metals by cutting, namely working holes in hard-to-reach places of shaped large-size parts and units preliminarily assembled by welding of separate members and subjected to heat treatment for using in equipment of nuclear power plants, in power and petro-chemical machine engineering.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes horizontal drilling machine tool with extending spindle head or unit of spindle heads for fastening drill mounted in rails of lifting platform of machine tool. Apparatus also includes system for discharging pulp in the form of waste cutting fluid containing cuttings from cutting zone and for evacuating it to settler. In order to enhance efficiency of drilling process, apparatus is provided with oil header coaxially mounted in stationary strut of lifting platform of machine tool and having duct for supplying to its cavity pressurized cutting fluid from source of such fluid. Oil header is in the form of separate casing in which extensible yoke is mounted along casing axis. Apparatus also includes intermediate mandrel for drill stem; said mandrel has body in the form of hollow cylinder whose length corresponds to technological demands, drill guiding sleeve coaxially mounted in front end of mandrel body and at least one rest as additional intermediate support for drill stem. Said rest is mounted coaxially in cavity of mandrel body. Opposite end of mandrel body has guiding sleeve and flange for rigidly securing it to extensible yoke of oil header. Intermediate mandrel may have along its length at least two detachable parts.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of drilling deep holes.
