FIELD: hydroacoustics; radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method can be used for building signal detecting systems. N sets of digitized readings of noise electric process is received in equal time intervals. The sets are subject to quick inverse Fourier transform to get complex signal spectrum. Power spectrum of noise current signals is determined as sum of n-1 mutual spectra between complex spectra of any previous and any subsequent set of digitized readings of noise current process. Signal/noise ration is increased at small input noise electric process' signal/noise ratio.
EFFECT: reduced total error; increased signal/noise ratio.
