FIELD: exploitation of nickel-hydrogen accumulator batteries, primarily in autonomous electric power systems of geostationary Earth satellites.
SUBSTANCE: method includes performing charge-discharge cycles with limiting of charge by analog pressure indicators, mounted on separate accumulators of accumulator battery, storing and charged condition and performing periodical recharging to compensate for self-discharge capacity of accumulators during storage, while analog pressure indicators are mounted on accumulators working under most thermally intensive conditions, while enabling and disabling of recharging are performed on basis of condition of stabilized self-discharge current of accumulator with analog pressure indicators being in range (0,003 - 0,006) of nominal capacity of accumulator battery, and during charge-discharge cycles average arithmetic indications of analog pressure indicators are raised to level, providing for value of stabilized self-discharge current of accumulators with analog pressure indicators being in range (0,01-0,012) of nominal capacity of accumulator battery. In accumulator battery for realization of method, of "n" serially connected accumulators, on "m" accumulators analog pressure indicators are mounted, number of accumulators with mounted analog pressure indicators is selected based on relation m/n ≥ 0,07 ÷ 0,14, while aforementioned accumulators are positioned in structural sectors of accumulator battery with worst heat draining.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of usage and reliability of operation of nickel-hydrogen accumulator battery.
