FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in charging storage batteries with their pressure and temperature being limited, discharging them, storing in charged state, recharging to compensate for self-discharge and periodical milking by pulse current. Charging or milking over, storage battery capacity maximum unbalance is calculated by the formula: ΔC=(Pmax-Pmin)·k, where Pmax is maximum storage battery pressure; Pmin is minimum storage battery pressure; k is factor to convert storage battery hydrogen pressure into capacity. Given notable difference in current capacity, self-discharge currents are defined by the formula: Ici=ΔPci·k/Δτci; where Ici is storage battery self-discharge current; ΔPCj is oxygen pressure reduction for design time interval Δτci. Given equal self-discharge currents, within the limits of measurement error, milking by pulsed current equal to mean integral current calculated by the formula below is performed: Ich=(1÷1.2)·(Ic+ΔI), where ΔI=ΔC·mmax, where mmax is coefficient of self-discharge current linear section inclination at maximum current capacity (pressure) defined by the formula: mmax=Ic/Ccur.min, while at unequal self-discharge currents, milking by pulsed current is performed by mean integral current calculated by the formula: Ich=(1÷1.2)·(Icmax+ΔI), where Icmax is maximum self-discharge current (self-discharge current with minimum current pressure).
