FIELD: machine engineering, namely applying coatings in vacuum, possibly treating blades of gas turbine engines, for example grooves of compressor blade joints.
SUBSTANCE: blade is preliminarily treated by means of synthetic corundum and it is subjected to chemical treatment of its surface. After placing blade into vacuum chamber part of its surface onto which coating is not applied is insulated. Then evacuation is provided in vacuum chamber in range (5 x10-2) -(10-1)Pa. Vacuum chamber is heated till temperature in range 100 - 600°C. Blade is subjected to ion cleaning by means of argon and then by means of oxygen for 5 - 15 min. Coating is applied onto blade by magnetron spraying of material at rate no less than 6 micrometer/h. Silver is used as material for spraying.
EFFECT: improved strength and adhesion of coatings, increased useful life period of blades at high temperature condition, possibility for applying coatings of purified materials with low content of impurities, simplified process for applying coating.
