FIELD: systems for detecting metallic objects, mainly firearms taken by checked persons passing through test zone.
SUBSTANCE: metal detector is in the of form vertical panel inside which at least one magnetizing coil connected to generator and two connected in series receiving coils are arranged. Outlets of receiving coils are connected with circuit having amplifier, timing detector, analysis unit, indicator, control unit, first and second units for controlling motion direction. Receiving coils may be mounted mutually in opposite at both sides from horizontally arranged magnetizing coil and be symmetrically spaced relative to it. They may be mounted at one side from horizontally arranged magnetizing coil or they may be mounted mutually in opposite at both sides from vertically arranged magnetizing coil. Magnetizing coils may be mounted normally in center and receiving coils may be arranged at both sides from magnetizing coils and be symmetrically spaced relative to them. Or magnetizing coils may be mounted mutually in opposite and spaced symmetrically by the same distance up and down relative to receiving coils mounted in the same direction in center of panel.
EFFECT: enlarged functional possibilities, improved response and selectivity, creation of condition for latent arrangement.
