FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of detection of metallic objects. Essence of the invention lies in the fact that the method of detecting metal objects further comprises the steps in which the outgoing signal is created by two independent sources of the electromagnetic field, at the stage of automated tuning, prior to entering the detection mode, the amplitude and phase of each source are set in such a way as to ensure that the minimum input signal received by the electromagnetic field receiver is close to zero, which is amplified, compensated by the compensation signal, which is opposite in phase and equal in amplitude, after which it is further strengthened, and a periodic change in the direction of the electromagnetic field is carried out, for which, periodically, the mutual arrangement of the sources of the electromagnetic field and the receiver of the electromagnetic field relative to each other is reversed, comparing and summing up the values of the amplitude and phase changes of the incoming signals received at different directions of the electromagnetic field.
EFFECT: increased uniformity of detection sensitivity of metal objects.
