FIELD: metal detection.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to devices for detecting metal objects moving through the controlled space. A multi-zone metal detector contains two vertical racks installed at a distance from each other and limiting the passage, receiving coils, at least two transmitting magnetizing coils placed inside each rack and distributed along it. The transmission coils are connected to the generator. The receiving coils are connected in opposing pairs to form differential pairs. The receiving coils of each pair are installed horizontally, and the pairs of receiving coils are installed along each rack along its height. The area of the transmitting coils on the corresponding rack is greater than the total area of the receiving coils on this rack. The output of each pair of receiving coils is connected to a corresponding amplifier. The outputs of the amplifiers through the switch of the receiving signals of the corresponding rack and the digital signal processing module are connected to the control module, designed to generate a signal to the display module about the presence and location of a metal object in the controlled space, and also designed to control the operation of the generator, which provides, through the switch of transmitting coils, alternating switching on the transmitting coils of the opposite racks via separate communication channels.
EFFECT: increased reliability and accuracy of determining the presence or absence of metal objects in the controlled zone.
