FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to iron and steel industry, particularly to production of iron-ore pellets. Moistened charge is supplied to a pelletiser in two flows with controlled consumption. The first flow is introduced into a flow of compressed gas which results in forming a gas-moistened charge jet; then charge is dusted, and spray-coated layer is formed on an endless moving elastic or tissue band wound on rotating drums via laminar dividers assembled stationary and with gaps between them on the surface of the band. Nuclei are formed by means of cutting the spray-coated layer with the laminar dividers, with band curving, with changing direction of band motion, and with cleaning band surface from spray-coated layer. The nuclei are finally pelletised with charge of the second layer to pellets. Charge consumption in gas-moistened charge jet is 0.5-8.0 kg/s for interval of band rate 0.05-1.5 m/s, with increment of charge consumption in the jet per each 1.0 kg/s the band rate is increased by 0.08-0.24 m/s. The gaps between dividers are made with increments along the path of the band motion by 5-30%; also the dividers are made out of antifriction materials.
