FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy; processing copper sulfide materials, nickel-containing inclusive into blister copper.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes oxide treatment of raw material simultaneously in two separate flows. Treatment of material whose size is lesser than 0.1 mm is performed in suspended layer in prechamber at delivery of oxygen in the amount up to 65% of theoretically required amount for complete oxidation of entire mass of sulfur, iron and admixtures to oxides; the remaining part of raw material whose size is 0.1-50 mm is molten together with fluxes in fluidized layer of melt at gas load of 1-3 m/s in chamber provided with slag lining. Oxygen insufficient by stoichiometry is blown into chamber through bottom blast units, thus maintaining gas content of melt within 0.55-0.9.
EFFECT: increased specific productivity; reduced content of copper in slag at melting into blister copper; increased operating time of unit.
