FIELD: production of silicon carbide powder for abrasive, ceramic and electrical industries.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes treatment of rice husk with acid solution and heat treatment; powder thus obtained is also subjected to heat treatment. Heat treatment of rice husk is carried out in graphite crucible in focus of large solar furnace by light flux of 60 W/cm2 during 0.1 h; subsequent heat treatment of powder is carried out at temperature of 70°C for at least two hours.
EFFECT: enhanced economical efficiency of process; high degree of purity of product.
