FIELD: propulsion engineering; production of the four-stroke internal combustion engines using hydrogen in operation.
SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of propulsion engineering, in particular, to production of the four-stroke internal combustion engines using hydrogen in operation. The invention allows to raise the economical and ecological efficiency of operation of the internal combustion engine. The four-stroke internal combustion engine contains, at least, one cylinder with the refrigeration jacket, the piston and the cylinder head forming the combustion chamber, the inlet and outlet valves, the ignition plug, the air-fuel mixture feeding system and the source of hydrogen. The source of hydrogen is made in the form of the electrolyzer, which electrodes are installed in the combustion chamber with possibility to be supplied with the electric current and with the free passage in the direct and opposite direction of the air-fuel mixture and the products of the working process. The water and the specially introduced electrolyte (the water solution of an electrolyte) are naturally present in the air-fuel mixture.
EFFECT: the invention ensures the increased economical and ecological efficiency of operation of the internal combustion engine.
