FIELD: draining the sub-base of roads or ballastway of railways by trenches, culverts, or conduits, particularly to create culverts in main pipeline and transversal waterway intersection point.
SUBSTANCE: method involves arranging culvert channel; filling opened pipeline and culvert channel sections with filling material; tamping ground under pipeline; consolidating filling material around culvert channel; arranging intermediate support under pipeline, wherein the intermediate support is made as flexible shell filled with hardening composition. Before culvert channel laying depression is made in waterway bed so that the depression extends for the full waterway length. Culvert channel is placed in the depression and advanced under pipeline so that the culvert channel rests upon foundation panel previously laid under the pipeline. After that depression is filled with filtering material. Intermediate support is arranged between pipeline and culvert channel. Hardening material is supplied to the shell under pressure calculated from main pipeline body bending moment value. Filling material is consolidated by covering lower embankment part with flexible permeable mats, which encloses culvert channel surface. Culvert constructed by described method is also disclosed.
EFFECT: increased operational reliability of culvert and main pipeline.
